Logan City Council Economic Development Unit
Logan City Council's Economic Development Unit functions to support Logan's economic growth and development and to facilitate sustainable employment growth.
The Economic Development Unit pursues the Logan City Council's vision, 'to develop Logan as a City for families, lifestyle and business', by strengthening the local and regional economy and enhancing employment prospects.
The Economic Development Unit is responsible for formulating, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the Logan City Council Economic Development Strategy (2003-2006) (pdf 1.1Mb). Please contact council to request a hard copy.
It is through this process that the Economic Development Unit satisfies its two primary goals:
- To support economic and employment growth.
- Build on the city's physical infrastructure.
The Economic Development Unit seeks to achieve its goals by:
- encouraging new business development within Logan City
- encouraging and supporting business expansion
- assisting new and existing businesses generate sustainable economic growth
- supporting business education and development initiatives

Logan Office of Economic Development
The Logan Office of Economic Development (LOED) was established in 1986 and aims to help businesses create jobs through investment in Logan. LOED's mission is to:
- attract inward investment into Logan
- retain and grow existing Logan business
- support new business start-ups in Logan
- market Logan City as an ideal investment and business location.
In order to achieve its mission and assist businesses, LOED offers the following services:
- information gathering and dissemination
- site selection and assessment assistance
- direct facilitation for client businesses in the expansion or relocation processes
- after care" services to established businesses
- direct involvement in community-based economic development projects and initiatives
- promotion and marketing of Logan City as a desirable location
- facilitation and access to grants and services provided by local, state and federal government departments.
It is not difficult to promote Logan City as an ideal base for businesses. Logan's attributes are many and varied, and all highly prized by forward-thinking companies.

Department of State Development and Innovation
The Department of State Development and Innovation drives economic development in Queensland.
The Department aims to propel Queensland as Australia's Smart State and build the foundations of a new broader-based economy for all Queenslanders.
