Community Planning

Community Planning

Logan City Council concentrates on establishing and maintaining frameworks for social stability within the Logan community. The implementation of policies and plans help Council determine the best options for preserving and improving the social well-being for all members of the community. In particular, Council is concerned with proposals to help deliver essential services and facilities that satisfy the needs of the community, including the needs of people from disadvantaged backgrounds, i.e. multicultural backgrounds, unemployed persons, or single parent families. In addition, Council is responsible for assessing proposals for their possible negative social impacts on the local community. In particular, it has a role in assessing proposals for liquor licences, gaming machines and land use developments to determine the extent of any benefits or disadvantages they may have for the local community and suggest ways in which any negative impacts can be managed.
