Over the past few years, Logan City Council, the state government and the local community have been working towards a plan to revitalise Springwood.

The initiative involves creating a vibrant town centre in Springwood, offering a host of dining, retail, commercial, residential, transport and entertainment options, and connecting existing shopping and commercial precincts.
Public transport is also a key feature in our master planning, and the busway must now be taken into consideration.
As such, we will now expand the Springwood Town Centre Master Plan into a Greater Springwood Master Plan, to ensure all relevant factors are taken into consideration.
We must now determine where the busway will pass through Springwood on its way to Shailer Park. The final route will play an important role in how Springwood develops in the future.

In February, locals had a chance to have their say in the master planning process. Council was overwhelmed by the quality of feedback provided into the Issues & Options Paper, which indicated just how interested locals are in this project.
