Street lights and most park lights that are:
- not working
- flickering
- in need of cleaning of cobwebs
- broken in any way
or that have poles knocked over etc. should be reported to Energex on 13 12 53.
Energex requires the exact street address of the problem. The pole number is only absolutely necessary if reporting a light in a park.
New requests for street lights
In residential areas where there is existing wood poles with overhead power reticulation, street lights are provided on alternate poles.
In residential areas that have underground power, the street lights have been designed and installed to meet the AS/NZS Code for road lighting.

Shading of street lights
The majority of street lights in Logan City are owned and maintained by Energex. Any modifications in the form of shades or shields to the lights must be requested by Council to Energex.
It is not the policy of Energex or Council to shade street lights. However, if a resident can demonstrate extreme hardship experienced by the visibility of a light source or overspill of the quantity of light generated by a street light, a light shade/shield can be installed. Such shielding comes at a standard cost which must be paid to Energex.
It is the policy of Council that where shields to street lights are requested, the cost of the work must be paid for by the complainant. In exceptional circumstances however, the Divisional Councillor may contribute towards the cost.
