About Cr Power
Cr Darren Power believes his most important role in the successful management of Division 10 is to communicate with constituents on a continuing basis.
His vision is for Logan to become a brighter, more appealing city, that provides continually improving facilities for families and senior citizens.
Before being elected to Council in 1997, Cr Power worked in local government for five years in Logan City Council's Environmental Health Department. Living in Logan and working in Logan City Council has, he believes, provided him with an understanding of resident's needs and an essential knowledge of Council operations.
Cr Power brings a wide background of experience to Council. His career background includes: a graphic reproducer's apprenticeship at the Herald Sun newspaper in Melbourne; three years as a Special Forces Commando in the Australian Army, earning his green beret; serving as a Commonwealth Officer from 1988 to 1991 in roles including consulate patrol, close personal protection and the policing of Melbourne airport.
His outlook is simply: "The harder you work, the luckier you get".
Cr Power is married with four children and lives in Shailer Park.
