About Cr Grant
Councillor John Grant returned to the halls of Logan City Council on 9 May 2009 after winning the Division 3 by-election.
A father of three adult children, Cr Grant is married to Robyn and has lived in Logan City since 1978.
In 1979, Cr Grant started his own building design / drafting company in Springwood. Working closely with Council as a small businessman ignited Cr Grant's passion to serve the community in more practical ways. He was elected as Councillor for Division 3 in 1997 and served as Deputy Mayor from 2004-2008.
Now back in Council with greater enthusiasm and a fresh approach, Cr Grant is determined to be a strong local voice for the community and provide effective representation in Council for all residents of the Division 3.
Cr Grant prides himself on working with all community groups, attending school P&C meetings, Neighbourhood Watch meetings and sporting associations regularly. During his previous 11 years in office, he also established effective working relationships with members of Parliament in both the State and Federal Governments.
Cr Grant is committed to serving his community and believes the three main issues to address in his Division are: rubbish collection, hooning, and the beautification of roads, parks and footpaths - with a specific focus on graffiti removal.
