About Cr Pidgeon
Cr Phil Pidgeon believes one of the main responsibilities of a Councillor is to be approachable and available to residents at all times. He says that listening to and valuing opinions and working with Council to solve resident's problems are the true aims of a local government representative.
Born and bred in Queensland, he grew up in Central Queensland and Brisbane, working as a trainee manager at Woolworths, a sheet metal worker and a professional photographer, before being elected to Council in 1997.
Some of his priorities include improving local roads and providing opportunities for adequate sporting and recreational facilities for local families and young people.
As well as his Council committee responsibilities, Cr Pidgeon holds a number of voluntary positions in the community and works with youth groups such as the Logan City Scouts and the Crestmead PCYC.
He is patron of several groups, including the Queensland Bird Breeders Club (based in Logan), the Crestmead 40+ Club, and Logan City Square Dancers and vice president of the Southern Astronomical Society.
Cr Pidgeon is married with four children.
