Interview expenses
Unless extenuating circumstances apply, Logan City Council does not pay interview or relocation expenses.
Salary and conditions of employment
Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the relevant industrial award and Council's current Federal Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (pdf) or State Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (pdf).
All full time staff receive four weeks annual leave per year as well as fifteen days sick leave per year.
Working hours vary depending on the Section in which you work.
Payment of wages
Salaries and wages are paid fortnightly into a nominated bank account.
Rostered days off
Apart from the Libraries and Cultural Services Branch, the majority of full time staff work a nine-day fortnight on a basis of 36.25 hours per week.
Christmas and New Year closedown
It is the current practice of council to close down operations for the period between Christmas and New Year. This provides a valuable break for employees to enjoy the Festive Season with family and friends. (Logan's Libraries are open except on Statutory Public Holidays).
Probation
Appointment is subject to a three month period of probation. Following satisfactory performance, which is appraised monthly by the immediate supervisor, a permanent appointment will be made.
Superannuation
All permanent employees are required to contribute to the Local Government Employees Superannuation Scheme within 12 months of their appointment.
Vehicle usage
Council vehicles are available for performing official Council work. Staff are required to produce the relevant current driver's licence and to comply with procedures in respect of the car pool and its operations.
Staff development and training
Logan City Council is committed to ongoing staff development and training. Employees are encouraged and supported to attend training and undertake study in approved courses. Council has implemented a study assistance policy (pdf) which offers generous assistance to qualifying staff.
Workplace Health and Safety
Logan City Council is committed to a safe and healthy work environment. Comprehensive workplace health and safety policies and procedures are in place to ensure staff are not placed at risk while at work.
Employee assistance program
The employee assistance program provides professional counselling and referral services for employees and their families experiencing personal or work related problems. This program is at no cost to the employee and is provided on a confidential basis.

All Logan City Council staff are required under the Code of Conduct (pdf) to act with honesty, integrity and diligence and to exercise a high degree of care when carrying out their functions of office.
