A local law is a law made by Council in accordance with the Local Government Act 1993. Council can make local laws in response to particular issues in its local government area.
Section 25 of the Local Government Act 1993 provides each Local Government with the jurisdiction to make local laws for, and to otherwise ensure, the good rule and government of its area.
