State of the Environment Report
The Logan City State of the Environment (SOE) Report 2001 is the second report of its type prepared by Logan City Council. This present report provides a snapshot of the current state of the environment in Logan City for 2001. It judges past performance and allows the decision-makers of the city to better plan and manage the environmental resources of the city.
In this SOE report Council has followed the theme from its first report in 1998, balancing the information previously gathered, while considering the changes that have occurred since then, and the information now currently available. In doing so, Council has recognised the challenges associated with ecological sustainable development (ESD) for Logan, being a city of more than 170,000 people concentrated in an area of approximately 250km2.
