Grant Writers Program revamped

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Logan City Council's Grant Writers Program has been renamed and expanded to give community groups greater access to funding opportunities.

In 2003, Council established the Grant Writers Program for not-for-profit community organisations and individuals, giving them access to a professional grant writer to assist with funding opportunities and developing funding applications.

The successful program has resulted in more than $1 million in grant funds being allocated to Logan community organisations.

Community, Sport and Customer Service Committee Chairperson, Councillor Hajnal Ban, said the program would be renamed and expanded to give community groups great access to the service.

"The program will now be called Fund Your Way - assisting Logan's community and sporting organisations achieve their goals and it will be expanded to include a series of complimentary workshops throughout the year providing practical advice about grant applications," she said.
