Gardeners rejoice! It's time to smell the roses and put on the gardening gloves as the popular Logan City Council Garden Competition returns.
Mayor, Councillor Pam Parker, said the competition had been a favourite event for Logan residents over the past 20 years, but times of drought meant it had not been run since 2005.
"I'm delighted to announce we are going to hold the competition again, as I know we have many keen gardeners throughout Logan City," Cr Parker said.
"This year we're encouraging gardeners to focus on waterwise and energy efficient gardening practices, as every drop of water is precious."
Cr Parker said popular media personalities and respected horticulturalists, Colin Campbell and Annette McFarlane, would again judge the competition.
"Colin and Annette will also attend our Award Ceremony in October to present the winners with the prizes and I know they're looking forward to seeing what Logan residents can create in their front and back yards," she said.
The competition opens on July 17 and gardeners have until October 3 to register their entries. Judging will take place on October 13 and 14 and the winners will be announced on October 17 from 6.30pm at the Beenleigh Community Centre.
