Hurry into Logan Art Gallery to catch the last days of In Your Dreams, an international art exchange exhibition featuring unique artworks from Australia, Canada and Germany.
On display until Saturday 2 August, this delightful show exhibits works by thirty artists who have each produced an artwork in a box which explores the theme 'In Your Dreams'.
Visual Arts Program Coordinator, Annette Turner, said dreams were an essential part of our everyday, both in our sleep and in our personal visions for the future.
"The experience of daydreaming or wishful thinking about adventure, new challenges, security, hope and love, weave a common thread through humanity," she said.
"In Your Dreams presents a diverse range of responses from the inspirational artists included in the exhibition."
Ms Turner said German artist Christine Huss created a 'dreambox' she called Couple that has been inspired by how love can build bridges between borders.
"While Canadian artist Elaine Rounds produced her work Dream Maker which explores how dreams keep changing, allowing people the opportunity to explore their personal visions and voices with each new beginning," Ms Turner said.
"The artists of In Your Dreams come from many disciplines within the art world, and have a range of cultural backgrounds.
"The intercontinental collaborative art project resulted in an inspirational collection of works encompassing artist’s books, painting, print-making, sculpture, jewellery and textiles."
Ms Turner said Helen Sanderson was the initiator and the Australian curator of In Your Dreams, Karen Cornelius curated the Canadian component of the exhibition, and Lene Rose Gruner curated the German component.
"These curators challenged artists to explore the theme In Your Dreams. The artists selected were given several things to consider when developing their work," she said.
"They were given the brief to produce a new artwork that would fit into a small traveling box, such that the work could sit snugly inside, or extend from it.
"Visitors to this unique exhibition find themselves considering how they would respond to this challenge?
