In recognition of their important role in the Logan community calendar, four community events have received sponsorship by Logan City Council.
The Beenleigh and District Cane Festival, the Beenleigh Show, the Eagleby Festival and the Spring Mountain Endurance Ride will each receive between $5,000-$10,000 for this year's events.
Community, Sport and Customer Services Committee Chairperson, Councillor Hajnal Ban, said the sponsorship was part of Council's commitment to supporting community events.
"These events are ones which attract participants and attendees from around the South-East and, in the case of the Spring Mountain Endurance Ride, even the world," she said.
"Following local government reform in 2008, these events have now become part of Logan City and Council was keen to ensure they continue.
"All four events have a rich and culturally significant history behind them, especially the Beenleigh Show, which will this year celebrate its 133rd anniversary.
" The Cane Festival is now in its 46th year, the Spring Mountain Endurance Ride is celebrating its 24th year and the Eagleby Festival has been providing the local community with free family fun since it started 11 years ago."
