It's official - The Greater Beenleigh Identity Project was a complete success.
The Greater Beenleigh Identity Project's key objectives were to:
• Upgrade the Beenleigh Historical Village;
• Develop a consistent brand and management plan; and
• Develop a web portal.
Customer and Corporate Services Committee Chairperson, Councillor Lisa Bradley (Division 1), said the project had been a great success story for Logan.
"The project met all its objectives," she said.
"The Beenleigh Historical Village was upgraded with the new interpretation and audio visual theatre and show. A website www.beenleighregion.com.au was created to support business and tourism, and the new brand Beenleigh - be part of it, was developed.
Cr Bradley said the project had achieved all its objectives in just eight months instead of the projected 18-20 months.
The project's completion was celebrated on Sunday, 2 August at the Beenleigh Fun Fair Day.
Cr Bradley said the event was extremely popular with more than 3000 people attending to celebrate the success of the greater Beenleigh region as a part of Logan.
"This shows the great community spirit of the area," she said.
As part of the upgrade, the Beenleigh Historic Village's name was changed to Old Beenleigh Town.
Cr Bradley said each area within Logan was unique and it was important to have something like Old Beenleigh Town to promote the historical significance of Beenleigh.
The project was funded through a $330,000 Queensland Government - Community Renewal Grant.
