Don't miss your chance to experience the most popular annual art exhibition in Logan. Artwaves 2009, shown at Logan Art Gallery each year, is the major annual exhibition of artworks by secondary school students of Logan City and neighbouring areas.
Artwaves 2009 will be exhibited at the Gallery from September 8 to October 10. Both state and private schools come together to present this vibrant and energetic exhibition which showcases the work of local talented students.
Program Leader for Cultural Services at Logan Art Gallery, Yenda Carson, said this year’s exhibition would feature inspirational works ranging from sculptures and paintings, to works on paper and digital prints.
"The creative talents of students from local private and state schools that will be showcased at the vibrant and energetic exhibition," she said.
"It is the 17th time we have staged this event and it again promises to provide plenty of entertainment for the community."
"Artwaves is non competitive and aims to demonstrate that students from Logan City and surrounding areas have a wealth of talent, imagination and skills in the area of the visual arts."
Artwaves 2009 is a collaboration between the Logan Art Gallery staff and the Artwaves Committee members, which is formed from art teachers of the participating schools. This year, the exhibition brings together student artworks from 28 secondary schools in the region.

As an important exhibition for the local region, Artwaves 2009 has been generously supported by Oxlades School Art Supplies and Logan City Council.
Logan Art Gallery is open 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Saturday and is located on the corner of Wembley Road and Jacaranda Avenue, Logan Central.
