Ever wanted to take a big stick to crime? Well this year's Logan / Beaudesert Crime Stoppers Golf Day is your chance to do just that.
The annual event raises funds for Crime Stoppers' national programs, that act as an invaluable link between the public and police. This year, it's hoped around 100 golfers will tee-off in the name of crime prevention.
Treasurer of the Logan Beaudesert Crime Stoppers Committee, Councillor Cherie Dalley said the golf day served an invaluable purpose in aiding the cause of Crime Stoppers.
"This is a not-for-profit organisation that performs such an important duty in Australia and especially here in Logan," she said.
"Simply by turning up and enjoying a game of golf on September 18, you'll be helping us raise an intended target of $9000 for Crime Stoppers that will help them to crack down on crime in Logan."
Crime Stoppers is a program which collects information from members of the public which may help police solve a crime. Information that leads to a conviction can result in rewards of up to $1000.
Funds raised from the Logan / Beaudesert Golf Day will support programs of the area committee as well as Crime Stoppers' national programs.
The Logan / Beaudesert Crime Stoppers Golf Day will be held on Friday, 18th September 2009, with registration commencing from 10am. Entry cost is $200 for a team of four players, which includes greens fees, pre-game refreshments and dinner.
Hole sponsorship costs $400 and includes signage for one hole for one week prior to the event, an activity on hole, green fees for four players, two buggies, pre-game refreshments and dinner. Buggies are available for hire.
