Residents urged to dish the dirt on rubbish

Monday, September 21, 2009

Logan residents are encouraged to have their say on waste management strategies within their community, via a survey.

The survey will cover topics like kerbside collection, wheelie bins, recycling, landfill and how Logan City Council's management of waste will impact on future generations. The survey will  help Logan City Council determine waste management priorities for the community, residents and businesses.

Logan Mayor, Councillor Pam Parker, said the survey would allow residents to have a direct influence on one of their most important services.

"With the lifespan of our major landfill at Browns Plains due to run out in about 14 years, Logan City Council is closely reviewing waste management services and we welcome our residents' input into this, because it affects all of us." she said.

All residents and businesses have the opportunity to access the survey on-line at Council's web site under 'have your say' or at http://bangthetable.com/logan to participate in an on-line forum.

To encourage maximum return of surveys, two prizes of $250 will be offered to residents returning completed surveys (or filling in surveys online) with names and address.
