If you are one of those people that keeps delaying the start of your fitness regimen, delay no longer.
National Ride to Work Day will be held next Wednesday, 14 October and gives riders of all ages and abilities the opportunity to not only improve their fitness, but also make a positive contribution to the environment.
Logan City Deputy Mayor, Councillor Russell Lutton (Division 2), is an avid cyclist and said the national day was a great excuse to leave the car at home and enjoy the benefits of bike riding.
''Council is committed to providing residents with every opportunity to enjoy a healthy lifestyle and has been very proactive in the construction of bikeways and cycle paths for residents to use,'' he said.
''We have a great network of pathways here in Logan and I encourage everyone to get on their bikes and experience these paths for themselves.
''Not only will they be taking a step towards a healthier lifestyle, but they will also be helping the environment and saving money.''
Last year an estimated 110,000 Australian workers participated in National Ride to Work Day last year - a 26% increase in registrations on the previous year.
Cr Lutton said he hoped Logan riders could combine to help push the tally even higher this year.
