They're the eyes and ears of aqualogan, and they're needed in numbers to keep local swimming centres safe this summer.
Qualified lifeguards and swimming instructors are being sought at the four aqualogan centres, ahead of an expected boom in numbers of recreational swimmers.
Health, Sport and Community Services Chairman, Councillor Phil Pidgeon, said lifeguards in particular were a key component in ensuring Logan City Council's swimming centres were safe for all residents.
"We adhere to very strict guidelines when it comes to safe practises at our aqualogan centres, and having the best possible safety personel is an integral part of that," he said.
"It's not just pulling people out of the water when they're in trouble, these positions involved other critical skills such as administering first aid and even checking the water clarity five times a day to ensure our facilities remain first class."
Qualified swimming instructors are also required to assist in delivering aqualogan's various 'learn to swim' programs, including the schools service that runs from October through to April.
