Desexing and microchipping
Community desexing and microchipping clinic
Council has been funded by the state government to participate in a pilot study to encourage responsible pet ownership. A community desexing and microchipping clinic, offering discounted desexing and microchipping, will be established. The clinic will be situated at the Animal Management Centre, 213 Queens Road, Kingston.
Permanent identification device (microchip)
Cat owners are responsible for the microchipping of their animal if:
- it is less than 12 weeks old; or
- if the animal is transferred to another owner; or
- if the animal is sold or purchased
Note: Exemptions apply for the animals where their health would be at risk by implanting a device (a signed veterinary surgeon's certificate is required).
