If your dog was registered with Beaudesert Shire Council or Gold Coast City Council and you are now part of the new Logan, here's some important information about your dog's registration renewal.
Former Beaudesert residents:
- Your dog registration renewal will be sent to you in July.
- Payment will be due within 14 days from the date of issue.
- A tag will be issued at the time of payment. This tag will replace your existing lifetime tag.
- Three year discounted registration is available for:
- desexed dogs
- entire dogs owned by approved pensioners
- desexed dogs owned by approved pensioners
- Bpay is available for registration payments if all the information on your renewal notice is correct.
Former Gold Coast residents:
- Your dog registration renewal will be sent to you at the beginning of September.
- Payment will be due within 14 days from the date of issue.
- The registration period is changing. From September 2008 onwards your dog registration will now expire on 30 June.
- Registration fees charged will be for 10 months only to compensate for the change to the expiry date.
- Three year discounted registration is available for:
- desexed dogs
- entire dogs owned by approved pensioners
- desexed dogs owned by approved pensioners
- Tags will not be sent with the renewal notice but will be issued at the time of payment.
- Bpay is available for registration payments if all the information on your renewal notice is correct.
Logan residents (prior to 15/3/08):
- Your dog registration renewal will be sent to you at the beginning of July.
- Payment will be due within 14 days from the date of issue.

All dogs over the age of three months must be registered with Council.

The general registration period for dogs is 1 July to 30 June. Council currently offers a three year registration period for desexed dogs and dogs whose owner is on a pension.
Pro rata fees apply from 1 January each year. Please refer to the Dog Registration Fee Schedule below for detials on fees payable.
To promote responsible dog ownership significant registration fee discounts are available for desexed dogs and for members of certain professional organisations.
Discounted registration fees apply for:
- Desexed dogs.
- A dog whose owner is on a pension. Eligible pensions are:
- Aged
- Disability support
- Service and totally incapacitated pension
- Carer payment (full time carer for a disabled person)
- Qld Gold Veterans' Affairs Card

If you need to transfer ownership and registration please complete and return to Council the Application for Transfer of Dog Registration (pdf).
If the dog is desexed proof must be provided to Council at the time of the first registration in one of the following ways:
- a desexing certificate (or copy of original);
- a letter from a vet;
- a previous registration paper from another Council showing a description of the dog and desexed details; or
- sighting of dog at Council's Animal Management Centre (all male dogs, or female dogs with tattoos only).
Statutory declarations are permitted in special circumstances. The declaration must be signed by a Justice of the Peace.
