Penalties for irresponsible management of dogs exist under Council laws.
Infringement penalties (on the spot fines) range from $150.00 for unregistered dogs to $375.00 for wandering dogs, inadequate enclosures, nuisance barking and aggressive dogs.
Council does have the option to prosecute irresponsible dog owners through the Magistrates Court where maximum fines upon conviction range from $1,500.00 to $3,750.00.
