Council's Animal Management Local Law limits the number of dogs permitted to be kept on a property, depending on the size of the land area of the property. You may be required to hold a current permit from Council in addition to your dog registration. Stringent conditions apply with any permit issued by Council.

If you wish to keep five or more dogs, you must apply for a development approval and a licence (which is annually renewable). Contact Development Assessment on 3412 5269 for information on development approvals. Once a development approval is granted, you can contact us for information on kennel or hobby kennel licences.
