Community centres and venues
The following facilities are available to the community for special occasions, wedding receptions, birthday parties, public seminars and functions. The venues offer free parking and discounted rates to charity and non-profit organisations.

Conditions
- Council and its organisations will be required to pay hire fees whenever part or all of a particular community centre is utilised for Council purposes, such fees to be the full standard rate stated.
- In the event that a function at any of the above community centres is booked for or proceeds beyond 10.30pm on any evening, the hire fee for the time period after 10.30pm will be charged at one and a half times the relevant hire fees.
- Set up times on day of function - one hour allowed free of charge if prior bookings permit. Any additional time required for set up will be charged at rehearsal rate or half the hiring rate at Slacks Creek P. H, Underwood Park H & Nerida Street CC.
- If a booking comes in that is close to the function date we need to call the caretaker of the venue to advise them of the event.
- High risk events as determinded by the Community Infrastructure Branch such as 18th to 21st birthday celebrations and functions over 100 people attract higher security bonds ranging from $300 to $500.
- Security Guards will be required as determined by the Community Infrastructure Branch for high risk events at the cost of the hirer. Security Guards are supplied by Council and charged to the hirer.
Late cancellation fee
- Hirers are required to advised Council in writing if they wish to cancel a booking and pay associated late cancellation fee.
- Greater than two months notice of a cancellation prior to booking - full refund of security bond.
Security guards are supplied by Council and charged to the hirer. Hirers do not book their own, or use family / friends even if they are associated with a security guard company.
