Join local Indigenous identity Beverly Hand on an exploration of culture through beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland. From Baroon Pocket Dam, Montville and Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve, this intimate tour will give insight into Australia’s native fauna and flora and Aboriginal stories and legends.
Tours are being held in support of the Bunya Dreaming Festival.

The Indigenous Australian Government Development Program (IAGDP) is an employment and development initiative administered by the Department of Edcuation, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) on behalf of partnering Australian Public Service (APS) Agencies.

Lifeline Australia and the NRL are working together in 2009 to raise awareness and funds for Indigenous wellbeing and suicide prevention through the Rugby League’s One Community program. As the campaign sponsor, the NRL will donate up to $15,000 for hand prints created by the public. This donation will go directly towards programs that support suicide safer Indigenous communities.

These traineeships are being offered as part of the Queensland Police Service’s E.E.O Management Plan. The traineeship provides the education qualifications for entry into the Queensland Police Service as a police recruit, including a 100m swimming proficiency and First Aid Certificate.
Trainees who successfully undertake this program will also be eligible to receive an Australian National Training Authority endorsed qualification.

The QCOSS IPSU has produced a new Resource Book “Look ere, Look ere: a deadly book of activities”. The book is a collection of activities from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Services throughout Queensland and has a strong focus on promoting pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, languages and traditions. This book reflects the skills and dedication staff have for children, families and their communities.
'Look ere, Look ere' provides practical examples of children’s activities with instructions and lots of great photo’s. It also links the activities to Skill Development, poses Questions to Promote Learning and suggests additional Cultural Considerations.

This shelter is for Males only, aged 16-21 and is primarily for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander young people.
Accommodation is for up to 3 months and during their stay, residents are involved in independent living programs and will receive case management support during their accommodation as well as post accommodation support.
The team at the new shelter is available to assist with further information and talk to workers or young people about the accommodation and the programs.
