Council controls a wide range of potential nuisances and health hazards relating to vegetation and unsightly conditions on private property, under its Local Law No. 10 (Public Health).
Land-owners are expected to prevent vegetation from becoming overgrown, or a fire hazard. Similarly, residents are expected to ensure their properties do not impact on the local amenity, through becoming untidy or poorly maintained.
Assistance is provided to residents and property owners where adjacent land is not being adequately maintained.
If a property near you has:
- an accumulation of unsightly material
- become a potential fire hazard
- become an eyesore due to overgrown vegetation
- suspected noxious plants
Please contact Council on 3412 5318. A Council officer will inspect the subject property and initiate enforcement action where necessary under appropriate legislation.
