Cameras

Safety cameras are installed in the Station Road / Blackwood Road, Woodridge precinct. There are eight pan tilt zoom cameras installed to monitor this precinct.

Portable and mobile cameras are rotated throughout a number of chosen locations and identified 'hotspots' across the city. The portable cameras appear in the shape of a dome camera. The mobile camera is a large trailer which allows Council to relocate it for a particular function or event, or upon request from the Police or the public, to monitor an area vulnerable to crime and antisocial behaviours.

The safety cameras have contributed to enhancing community lifestyle and well being through the successful detection and deterrence of crime. Crime has decreased across a number of categories.

Safety cameras are monitored and recorded 24 hours a day by trained monitoring staff. Monitoring staff are responsible for referring all suspicious, antisocial and criminal activity to the Police for investigation.

Enquiries

  • Any enquiries about recorded incidents should be made to the Police.
