Crime and the perception of safety in Logan City have consistently been issues for residents. Council has recently resolved to initiate action in partnership with other government agencies on a limited range of crime preventive measures that will be implemented in the immediate future.
These actions are represented in the Logan Safe City Strategy 2006-2010 (pdf).
This program is aimed at collaborating community organisations and agencies to work together in addressing crime prevention initiatives and to create innovative programs to address developmental, situational, criminal justice and community based crime prevention approaches.
It is recognised that the causes of crime are complex issues which require on-going deliberative partnership based approaches if the incidents of crime are to be reduced. These issues are addressed by the Safe City Advisory Committee.
