Fees
The 2008/09 fees and charges listed below will apply from Monday 4 August 2008. Enquiries about the charges in the meantime can be directed to 3412 5459.
The fee structure is designed to encourage community members to both minimise their wastes and separate their loads. The following table lists the fee structure for domestic users of the SmartTiP.
All prices listed are inclusive of GST.
Note: Commercial and General wastes and all Construction and Demolition wastes are not accepted at Carbrook, Beenleigh, Logan Village and Greenbank transfer stations.
The Browns Plains Landfill and the Carbrook Transfer Station have weighbridges. The Beenleigh, Logan Village and Greenbank transfer stations do not have weighbridges.

Why are there charges for Logan residents?
Building safe, secure and environmentally responsible landfills costs money.
Many people argue that those in the community who have managed to minimise their waste enough not to use the landfill should not have to pay for those who have not. It is an argument of equity and fairness. Is it fair to charge someone who never uses a service for part of that service?
Those who use the SmartTiP to recycle materials they cannot fit in the recycling section of the wheelie bin or that cannot be recycled in the kerbside system are not charged (see charges above) to use the SmartTiP. Logan Waste Services does not charge domestic users who are making an effort to help our community minimise its waste.
Free tipping open days are held at the transfer stations.
