Why are there charges for Logan residents?

Building safe, secure and environmentally responsible landfills costs money.

Many people argue that those in the community who have managed to minimise their waste enough not to use the landfill should not have to pay for those who have not. It is an argument of equity and fairness. Is it fair to charge someone who never uses a service for part of that service?

Those who use the SmartTiP to recycle materials they cannot fit in the recycling section of the wheelie bin or that cannot be recycled in the kerbside system are not charged (see charges above) to use the SmartTiP. Logan Waste Services does not charge domestic users who are making an effort to help our community minimise its waste.

Free tipping open days are held at the transfer stations.
