Logan's water comes from a variety of sources.
Logan City now has a lower reliance on water sourced from Wivenhoe Dam, with three connections to alternative water supplies.
From early January 2009, 10 megalitres of water a day will be drawn through the Water Grid from water supply sources in the Redland City Council area. This is in addition to the 9.2 megalitres of water sourced already from the Logan River at South Maclean and 30 megalitres from the Gold Coast.
Residents in the east of the city will receive their water from the Gold Coast or Redland supplies. This includes properties in all or some of the following suburbs: Loganholme, Cornubia, Shailer Park, Tanah Merah, Daisy Hill, Slacks Creek, Springwood, Underwood, Rochedale South, Kingston, Woodridge, Beenleigh and Eagleby.
The water from South Maclean joins Logan's system at Greenbank and is distributed to homes in Logan's western suburbs, that is, properties in all or some of: Berrinba, Boronia Heights, Browns Plains, Crestmead, Forestdale, Greenbank, Heritage Park, Hillcrest, Kingston, Regents Park, Logan Reserve, Marsden, Park Ridge and Waterford West.
