Water fluoridation

The Queensland Government will introduce water fluoridation at the major SEQ water treatment plants in December 2008, followed by the introduction of water fluoridation at minor SEQ water treatment plants prior to 31 December 2009.  This means that Logan's water supply will be over 60% fluoridated prior to 31 December 2008 and be fully water fluoridated prior to 31 December 2009.

Major changes are also occurring to water infrastructure in SEQ with the result being that Logan will receive additional water supplies from North Stradbroke Island (November 2008) and Gold Coast desalination water plant (Mid 2009).

The following table outlines the introduction of the new water supplies and the anticipated commissioning of fluoridation units relating to Logan's water supply.
