The Griffith University Community Food Garden (GUCFG)

The Griffith University Community Food Garden (GUCFG) site was established in late 2005.  The garden was initially established to research the benefits of community gardens.  In the middle of 2006, six months after the first visible establishment of the garden, ACCES Services Inc became involved in the garden.  The collaboration between ACCES Services Inc and GUCFG generated participation from the African communities in Logan.  At present, the garden serves as a teaching tool for University students as well as a community garden for interested populations to grow their own vegetables and fruit.

The GUCFG aims to act as a teaching and research resource in the University environment and to create awareness about health, enhance community development and social engagement with the local Logan-based community.
