Tooth decay is a preventable disease. By eating a healthy diet, brushing and flossing daily, having regular dental check ups and drinking fluoridated water, Queensland families can be saved from the discomfort and costs of poor dental health.

Water fluoridation
Water fluoridation is the adjustment of the natural amount of fluoride in the water supply to a level recommended for optimal dental health benefits.
Logan's water has approximately 0.1 part per million of fluoride naturally found in the water. The optimum level of fluoride in the water supply in Logan's water will be 0.8 parts per million.
"Water fluoridation is the most effective way of allowing all members of the community to receive its benefits, irrespective of age, income or education level. It requires the least effort, creates the least risk and provides the greatest oral health benefit".
Water fluoridation has overwhelming support by all the major medical and dental bodies in Australian and internationally, including the World Health Organisation, National Health and Medical Research Council, Australian Dental Association and the Australian Medical Association.
Queensland Health has advised that the fluoride supplements are no longer needed due to the introduction of water fluoridation in South East Queensland. Due to this advice, Council has ceased the free fluoride supplements program for children between four and twelve years of age.
