About Mayor ParkerPam Parker was first elected as a councillor in 1997 and has been part of a team that has seen the transformation of Logan since that time. Prior to being elected to Council, Pam worked in the legal profession, Local and State Governments and small business.
Pam Parker was elected as Logan's first female Mayor in 2008 and was re-elected unopposed in the 2012 Local Government election.
Pam is an Executive member of the South East Queensland Council of Mayors and the Women in Local Government Association as well as Chair of the Council of Mayors Infrastructure committee. She is a member of the Invest Logan board, the Queensland Economic Development Association and was recognised for Economic Development Excellence in 2011. As Mayor, Pam is also the Chair of the Local Disaster Management Group.
As well as being Patron or member of numerous community organisations, Pam has been a lifetime volunteer for many organisations, clubs, schools and charities. She is known for her strong, caring and inclusive community focus, for being hard working and getting the job done.
Logan City Council is now Australia’s sixth largest local government authority by population, and Mayor Parker is dedicated to making Logan a city for families, lifestyle and business where people matter and where people can live, work and play. She believes that Logan is the heart of South East Queensland, because of its ideal location as well as for its community spirit second to none.
She is committed to promoting Logan to attract the investment needed to create the 70,000 local jobs necessary to secure employment for our current and future residents and their children over the next 20 years. What we do today, determines our tomorrow.
Pam is married to George and has two adult daughters.
