Applications now open for Community Service Grants
Published: 22 August 2016
Logan City Council is now calling for applications from individuals and community organisations intending to plan and deliver projects that meet the current and emerging needs of the community.
The Community Service Grants have proved to be very popular with a wide range of programs delivered in the past ranging from the BRAKE Driver Awareness program for high school students to the Ready, Read, Run program for early years.
Sports and Community Services Committee Chairperson, Councillor Steve Swenson said two types of grants were on offer – grants to individuals organisations of up to $3,000 while up to $5,000 will be available for community groups and organisations that collaborate on projects.
“To help with the grants process, free workshop sessions have been organised to provide an overview of the program and provide advice on how to apply,” Cr Swenson said.
“I urge all interested residents and community groups to attend these workshops to get as much information as possible about the grants application process.
“Council officers will be on hand to answer any questions and provide tips on how to complete your application form.”
A workshop will be held at Logan Central Library on Tuesday 23 August between 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
The Community Services Grants Program has two funding rounds per year – round one will close on 12 September 2016.
Round Two will open on 24 February 2017 and close on 20 March 2017.
