Arts lovers drawn to park
Participants get into the Animating Spaces Logan: Arts in the Park spirit.

Art lovers of all ages were drawn to Logan River Parklands on Sunday to celebrate Animating Spaces Logan: Arts in the Park as part of the state-wide Animating Spaces event.

The day was picture perfect for more than 3,000 attendees to enjoy a day of art, sun, creativity and live music beside the river, the culmination of a year's planning, preparation and arts development.

Sports and Community Services Committee Deputy Chair, Councillor Jennie Breene (Division 12), said the day was a great success, with attendees participating in a number of art events and helping unveil a new public artwork.

"Feedback from participants has been great – very positive and very engaging," he said.

"Animating Spaces Logan: Arts in the Park has really generated a buzz in the community and a real interest in all the arts.

"I would like to thank the community project leaders who developed and delivered three high-quality projects, including the new public artwork, the ARTS letters, and the day's live music.

"The project has demonstrated the depth of artistic talent in Logan, which I hope will continue to develop and flourish over the coming years."

Animating Spaces Logan: Arts in the Park was held on Sunday, 6 September 2015 at Logan River Parklands.

The event was jointly funded by Logan City Council and the State Government through Artslink Queensland, with the support of the Australian Government through the Regional Arts Fund (Regional Arts Australia), Australian Council for the Arts Creative Communities Partnership.
