Community members honoured at local parks

The legacy of two City of Logan members of the community will be honoured at local parks following a decision at this week's Council meeting.

Parks, Health, Environment and Sustainability Committee Chairperson, Councillor Trevina Schwarz (Division 11), said Forestdale's Archery Park would be renamed Pauline Towler Park, while a pedestrian footbridge at Leawarra Park at Loganholme will be named Alexis Crossing, following community consultation earlier this year.

"The community supported the renaming of Archery Park as Pauline had contributed to the local community and had a positive influence on the Forestdale area," she said.

"Similarly, people supported the naming of the bridge at Leawarra Park after Alexis, saying she was a highly-valued member of the community."

The community consultation for each park was undertaken in February/March.
