Future Management of Cornubia Park Sports Centre to be Considered by Council
Published: 25 November 2015
Logan City Council has asked Logan Basketball Inc. for a detailed business plan to support its proposal to secure the management rights to the Cornubia Park Sports Centre.
Sports and Community Services Committee Chairperson, Councillor Russell Lutton said Logan Basketball – a not for profit organisation and long-term centre lessee – had presented a submission to manage and develop the centre’s facilities while maintaining a multi-sports focus to accommodate all current users’ requirements.
“The proposal will be discussed in some detail, once a business case is presented, to ensure there was an overall benefit to the community and to ensure there are no redundancies, additional costs to Council or loss of amenity to the sporting community” he said.
It is expected that a decision will be made before the start of the next season.
