Dozens of Logan families were left mopping up after a severe storm cell passed through the city on Monday afternoon.
Logan Mayor and Logan Disaster Management Group chairperson, Pam Parker, said members of the Logan State Emergency Service were kept busy after the downpour with more than 40 calls for assistance received.
"We called in 40 of our Logan SES volunteers to help with the clean up and the storm, which hit the city at about 3.30pm, certainly kept them busy," she said.
"The majority of these calls for help were to repair damaged roofs and to assist with localised flooding.
"What I want to stress with residents however though is that a portion of the localised flooding experienced by some of our residents was caused by blocked gutters.
"I again remind residents of the importance of keeping the gutters of their home clear. Regular maintenance could potentially save unnecessary and expensive damage to property."
Cr Parker said all but six of the jobs were completed yesterday.
Yesterday's local clean-up efforts of the Logan SES follows their voluntary work in the flood ravaged areas of western Queensland.
"All Logan teams have returned from Charleville and Roma and I want to commend them on their outstanding efforts; they all worked extremely hard for throughout their five day deployment," Cr Parker said.
She said the Emergency Management Queensland said they did not require any further assistance from Logan SES in the mop up of the flood affected areas.
