Eats and Beats – the gift that keeps on giving
Published: 10 November 2015
What's better than one Eats and Beats event? A festival of five of them, of course.
The popular monthly food truck and live music event begins a five week tour of the city this month to spread some festive cheer as part of the City of Logan's Christmas Festival.
Eats and Beats will add some cool to the yule, transforming into a Christmas festival with an appearance by Santa, carollers and other live entertainment.
The rolling festival of food kicks off its weekly Friday night celebrations at the Hyperdome on 20 November before heading to Jimboomba, Beenleigh, Browns Plains and Logan Central.
Governance, Finance and Economic Development Chairperson, Councillor Luke Smith, said Eats and Beats had quickly established itself as one of the city's favourite events since its debut in March this year.
"People were telling us they would like to see more pop up events in the City of Logan and they certainly turned out for the first one at IKEA," he said.
"Thousands of people came to that one, far more than we had anticipated, and the crowds have continued to support Eats and Beats as it has moved around the city.
"We have wanted to share this event with everyone in Logan so we are thrilled that we have an opportunity to do that by combining it with the city's Christmas celebrations."
The Eats and Beats events will run on Fridays between 5pm and 9.30pm and will welcome back regular food truck favorites including King of Wings, Tender Calamari and Little Back.
