Eats and Beats to support two-day Queensland Music Festival extravaganza
Published: 10 July 2015
Eats and Beats will make its first foray in Logan Central to support the Queensland Music Festival's eagerly anticipated Under This Sky performance on the weekend of 1-2 August.
Based on the continuing popularity of the event, the next Eats and Beats will feature 50 food vendors on both Saturday and Sunday.
Governance, Finance and Economic Development Chairperson, Councillor Luke Smith (Division 6) said Eats and Beats would run from 3pm until 9pm on both Saturday and Sunday as part of Under This Sky.
"This is a special one-time-only format for Eats and Beats and we will have more vendors to cater for the anticipated crowds," he said.
"Eats and Beats will start at the earlier time allowing families to come in with their picnic blanket, grab some food and find a great spot to watch the free performance of Under This Sky.
"Live local music will also feature before and after the QMF show and we are encouraging everybody to get in early so they don't miss out on seeing the performance."
Under This Sky as part of QMF will take place at the Logan Brothers Rugby League Club fields on Wembley Road, adjacent to the Logan City Council buildings, with the show commencing at 6.30pm.
Deputy Mayor Russell Lutton (Division 2) said the QMF performance Under This Sky would be unlike anything seen before in the City of Logan.
"The show will be a fantastic family event and we are expecting a very large turnout on both nights," he said.
"Free park and ride options will be available from 3pm at Logan Central Plaza Shopping Centre and it is an easy walk from Woodridge train station. Parking is limited and we encourage the use of public transport.
"This is a family friendly, alcohol free event and bags will be checked – so make sure you leave ample time to get to the venue, clear the gate and find a space to soak in the atmosphere."
