Fun on the menu for Underwood Eats and Beats
Funderwood Hollow in Underwood Park will be playtime central when Eats and Beats arrives on Friday 30 September.

A generous serving of kids entertainment will be on the menu as Logan’s roaming food truck and live music festival, Eats and Beats, makes its first visit to Underwood Park.

Queensland Children’s Music Award winners the Kangagang will perform as part of a kids-focused music line up to tie in with the ImagiNation Children’s Festival happening across the City of Logan during the September school holidays.

City Image Chairperson, Councillor Laurie Smith, said the pop-up festival’s debut appearance in Underwood Park had generated a record amount of online interest, seeing the Eats and Beats Facebook page register 10,000 followers.

“We are holding Eats and Beats at Underwood Park for the first time so it is exciting to be able to share this popular event with residents who live in and around that part of our city,” Cr Smith said.

“The ImagiNation Children’s Festival showcases over 140 free or low-cost events for children aged 0-12 to get involved with these holidays and this Eats and Beats is no different.

“The festival will be playtime central with face painting, balloon animals, live music for the kids and the popular Funderwood Hollow playground.

Division 1 Councillor Lisa Bradley said Council expected a large turnout for the event and encouraged people to come early and, if they live locally, to follow her lead and travel to the park on foot.

“This will be our first chance to see how Underwood Park copes with the demand for parking at Eats and Beats so we’ve put a traffic plan in place that we think will anticipate a lot of people driving,” Cr Bradley said.

“With that in mind, I encourage anyone who lives in the area and is thinking of attending to walk to Underwood Park or get a lift to avoid any potential parking queues.”

Cr Bradley said local sports clubs based in Underwood Park would also be running membership drives to recruit new players.
