Market grows for a bargain and breakfast in Beenleigh
Published: 7 June 2016
Sunday market-goers will now have twice the fun in Beenleigh from Sunday 12 June, with the Early Bird and Breakfast Markets starting at Beenleigh Town Square.
The weekly farmers and lifestyle market will feature more than 100 stalls offering a mix of locally-sourced produce, gourmet provisions, hot food and hand-crafted treats.
Market co-ordinator Mark Power said the markets would be foodie-focused and offer market goers the best quality, affordable and latest foods.
“Beenleigh’s new town square is an ideal site to stage the markets and we’re hoping people will really embrace the idea of heading into town to pick up some fresh items and spend their Sunday mornings relaxing in and around the square.”
City of Logan Mayor, Luke Smith, said the new markets would complement the nearby Beenleigh Showground Sunday Market.
"The Showgrounds Sunday Markets have been running for many years now, so this doubles the fun for market-goers who come to Beenleigh on a Sunday morning," he said.
"It's just a short walk between the showgrounds and Beenleigh Town Square.
"You'll be able to purchase a variety of goods at both markets, spend the day in beautiful Beenleigh, and maybe even explore some of our other attractions here in the City of Logan.
"It's the perfect day out for everyone."
