History

The area now known as Monarch Glen has remained a quiet, heavily wooded and hilly place, virtually untouched by the modern world. Some timber getting and occasional sawmills interrupted the otherwise peaceful landscape.

Monarch Glen was gazetted as a suburb within the City of Logan on 20 May 2016. The area was once part of the vast Undullah station, and land from the station was separated for the development of Monarch Glen. The suburb is named after the monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus), found locally.
