While the terms "bike route", "bikeway" and "bike paths" have been used to describe convenient travel paths for bicycles, in many instances the paths and roads have not necessarily been designed or constructed in accordance with bicycle facilities guidelines such as Austroads Guide to Traffic Engineering Practice - Part 14 (Bicycles). Therefore, users must exercise caution and due care at all times.
Some "caution" notes have been provided to highlight specific locations along major bike routes where physical conditions (such as major road crossings or blind corners), currently beyond Council's control, may require additional caution by users. This is intended as a guide only and you should use reasonable care and attention at all times.
All bicycle paths in Logan City are shared paths also used by pedestrians. When riding on a footpath or shared path, a bicycle rider must keep to the left and must give way to any pedestrian on the path (Queensland Road Rules, Part 15). You are encouraged to familiarise yourself with the other road rules which apply to cyclists (a link to Queensland Transport is provided on this website).
Logan City Council reserves the right to deny access to, or use of, all or part of this Web site, without prior notice, if engaged in any conduct Logan City Council believes, in its sole discretion violates any term or provision of the terms and Conditions or violates the rights of Logan City Council or third parties or is otherwise inappropriate for continued access and use of this website.
