route_paras["EW"] = ["EW is a 21 km long continuous east-west bicycle route from Loganlea Road, Meadowbrook (near Griffith University) to Middle Road, Greenbank (at Bellevue Park). It is the principal off-road bicycle route across Logan, joining a number of major bikeways constructed along the waterways of Scrubby Creek and through popular parkland areas in Boronia Heights, Regents Park, Berrinba Wetlands, JJ Smith Park, Gould Adams Park and the Meadowbrook Corridor.","EW crosses a number of major roads west of the Pacific Motorway, including Loganlea Road, Kingston Road, Logan Motorway, Third Avenue, Browns Plains Road, Waller Road, Mt Lindesay Highway and Middle Road. It also connects directly with Slacks Creek (SC), Logan Central (LC) and Crestmead (CM) Routes and indirectly with the proposed Pacific Motorway V1 Bikeway (via SC).","EW has relatively flat terrain, with moderate to steep grades near some major road crossings and where the route deviates from the Scrubby Creek alignment. The Strategic Cycleway Network (part of the new Logan Planning Scheme) allows for future expansion of EW east of the Pacific Motorway via the Logan River. When completed, EW will offer a fully off-road bicycle facility spanning the width of Logan from Carbrook to Greenbank (14 suburbs)."]
route_paras["LC"] = ["LC is a 12 km long continuous north-south on-road bicycle route from Compton Road, Underwood to Tygum Lagoon, Waterford West. The route follows five main sections of road - Compton Road (Underwood), Nyanza Street/Station Road (Woodridge), Railway Parade (Logan Central), Jacaranda Avenue (Kingston) and Kingston Road (Loganlea). Future works will link LC with V1 and SC Routes near Springwood Busway Station.","LC passes through the Logan Central Civic Centre (Council Administration, Logan Entertainment Centre, Logan Gardens, Queensland Transport and Police), as well as two railway stations (Woodridge and Trinder Park) and major recreational facilities located at Gould Adams Park and Tygum Lagoon. The route has moderate terrain, including a number of long hills (mainly northbound), and is not recommended for inexperienced cyclists due to a large proportion of the on-road route being unmarked."]
route_paras["SW"] = ["SW is a 5 km bicycle route running east from the Pacific Motorway (and V1 Bikeway) at Springwood Busway Station to the the north-east fringe of Rochedale South on Priestdale Road. The route follows the relatively quite streets of Vanessa Boulevard and Lenore Crescent (near the heart of Springwood) before going off-road along Springwood Road (in front of Springwood Road Primary School). A short, steep on-road section along Parfrey Road near Springwood High School inks the route to another off-road path through Passerine Park, Belmore Park and Underwood Park to Priestdale Road at Priest Gully.","Grades along SW are reasonably moderate through Springwood and flatten out through the parkland area north of Parfrey Road."]
route_paras["SC"] = ["SC is a 11 km long continuous north-south off-road bicycle route from the Pacific Motorway at Watland Street, Slacks Creek to Tygum Lagoon, Waterford West. The route follows a series of bikeways along Slacks Creek and Loganlea Road, passing community facilities such as Logan Golf Course, Griffith University, Logan Hospital and TAFE, Loganlea Rail Station and Tygum Lagoon.","SC also connects with the East West (EW) and Logan Central (LC) Bike Routes as well as the Pacific Motorway V1 Bikeway (links yet to be confirmed). The route is generally flat, the main exception being the rail overpass near Loganlea Station, Loganlea Road."]
route_paras["SP"] = ["SP is a 9 km bicycle route running east from the Pacific Motorway (and V1 Bikeway) at Mandew Street, Shailer Park to Chantilly Heights Park on the Logan River (near Logandale, Loganholme). The route follows the northern ends of Mandew Street and Plantain Road (on-road) before entering Parkview Park (on the edge of Cornubia Forest), and then continues off-road towards the Logan River, via California Creek Road and Gailes Road.","Grades along SP vary, with the only steep section being Plantain Road (both directions), which is not recommended for inexperienced cyclists due to high traffic volumes and no formal on-road bicycle markings at this time."]
route_paras["CM"] = ["CM is a 7 km long continuous east-west bicycle route through Waterford West and Crestmead from Logan Central Bike Route (LC) at Muchow Road (near Tygum Lagoon) to East West Bike Route (EW) at Browns Plains Road (near Berrinba Wetlands). The route passes through Crestmead and Judith Parks, in which the Crestmead Community Centre, bicycle education track and Park Ridge Pony Club are located.","CM has flat to moderate terrain, while the eastern section on Muchow Road is not recommended for inexperienced cyclists due to high traffic volumes along this part of the unmarked on-road route. The Strategic Cycleway Network (part of the new Logan Planning Scheme) allows for future expansion of CM to the east via an alternative off-road route through Bayes Park, Logan Reserve, as well to the west through Heritage Park and Regents Park."]
route_paras["V1"] = ["The V1 Bikeway is a fully marked bicycle facility planned for the Pacific Motorway (M1) Corridor between South Brisbane and Smith Street Motorway interchange (north of Nerang). Construction of the V1 Bikeway through Logan will take a number of years and is scheduled to commence in July 2005, progressively working north from the Logan River (linking with the recently completed Gold Coast section) to Underwood Road (Brisbane section also to be completed before this time).","The Logan section of the V1 Bikeway is being designed and constructed by Queensland Main Roads in consultation with Logan City Council, Logan Bicycle User Group (Logan BUG) and the local community. Flat to moderate grades are to be expected along this route."]
