The unique partnership between the Queensland Police Service and the Logan community continues to grow and strengthen, with City of Choice Leadership Team representatives meeting with Police Commissioner Ian Stewart this month.
Leadership Team Chair, Jude Munro, and Logan City Deputy Mayor and Leadership Team member, Councillor Russell Lutton, met with the Queensland Police Commissioner on 20 August, along with Acting Assistant Commissioner (South Eastern Region) Stephen Hollands and Acting Chief Superintendent Noel Powers - District Officer, Logan District.
It was an opportunity to discuss the wide range of actions being delivered through the City of Choice Two-year Action Plan, particularly those involving partnerships between the Logan Police District and Logan City Council, such as Logan Weeks of Action, the Safety Camera Network and proactive Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design audits of public spaces.
It was also a chance to explore new partnership opportunities and discuss other Two-Year Action Plan priorities, including developing an overarching safety plan for Logan and building on existing community-based safety initiatives.
Ms Munro and Cr Lutton took the opportunity to acknowledge the 100 additional Queensland Police Services officers provided to Logan as a result of the Logan: City of Choice initiative, and thanked the Commissioner for his ongoing support for the ground-breaking Two-Year Action Plan.
