It All Begins With Love - powerful theatre coming to Logan
Published: 8 October 2015
The Logan: City of Choice Leadership Team is partnering with Logan City Council and the Rotary Club of Logan to bring a powerful piece of theatre to Logan City in November, addressing the issue of domestic and family violence.
"It All Begins With Love" is a 35 minute play based on transcripts of interviews with people who have experienced or perpetrated domestic violence. It's already received positive feedback from audiences, who have described it as powerful, realistic and confronting.
The Rotary Club of Logan will present the play on 24 November 2015 at the Kingston Butter Factory. The Logan: City of Choice Leadership is providing sponsorship by covering the cost of the venue hire. Logan City Council is also a sponsor.
"It All Begins With Love" was developed by Bundaberg-based arts company Creative Regions over three years, in partnership with a range of domestic and family violence service providers including Relationships Australia and Uniting Care Community. It premiered in Bundaberg to widespread acclaim in November last year and is touring Queensland in October/November.
The play focuses on early intervention, awareness, and recognition of domestic and family violence, and aims to spark conversations about this issue.
Following the Logan show, professionals from Uniting Care Community will conduct a 30 minute debrief and Q&A session, followed by a light supper.
