Information for sport, recreation and community organisations seeking funding assistance from Council.

Grant Writer - Female Facilities Program

The Female Facilities Program offered through the State Government's Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing (Department) aims to assist eligible sport and recreation organisations to develop functional and inclusive female change rooms and amenities that meet the current and future needs of sport and recreation participants. Eligible projects include:

  • new or upgraded change room facility for female participants and/or officials
  • new or upgraded amenities for female participants and/or officials
  • safety requirements to support facility access and use by females
  • new or upgraded parents’ room/s.

There is no minimum funding amount or maximum total project cost limit for this program however the maximum amount of funding through the Department is $500,000 (GST exclusive).

Council Support

To support Logan based organisations wishing to apply for the program, Logan City Council (LCC) has released the Grant Writer - Female Facilities Program which will provide the opportunity for organisations to secure the services of a professional Grant Writer to prepare as application to the Department. LCC will select the four (4) highest ranked applicants. LCC will also provide the following support to assist in the application to the Department:

  • Letter of Commitment from Council including confirmation of tenure and development approval advice
  • Sketch Design/Floor Plan (Limited to existing council designs for the change room component of new facilities only)
  • Quantity Surveyor estimate (Limited to existing council designs for the change room component of new facilities only)
  • The opportunity for Council to manage the project on the clubs behalf if required.

Travel Assistance Funding

Logan residents will have more opportunities to enjoy sport and recreation in the city thanks to a partnership between Logan City Council and the Brisbane Lions Australian Football Club.

The Logan Sports Development Program - Travel Assistance Grants cover the direct expenses related to representative sport and are able to be used towards:

  • Direct travel and accommodation expenses
  • Compulsory competition fees
  • Compulsory competition uniforms

Eligible applicants can apply for up to:

  • $300 for all state and national events
  • $700 for all international events

Individuals are eligible to apply multiple times for funding up to a maximum amount of $1,000 per financial year,  however are only eligible to submit one application per round.

Key dates

  • Logan Sports Development Program - Travel Assistance Grant applications can be submitted throughout the year following notification of selection;
  • Applications must be fully completed and submitted prior to commencement of the championship event. No retrospective funding will be considered; and
  • Fully completed applications may take six (6) weeks from submitting an application to receiving notification of the outcome.

Grant Writer Program

Council's Grant Writer Program is available to not for profit, incorporated sport, recreation and community organisations that work within the boundaries of Logan City.

This program aims to assist organisations to source funding opportunities with the support of a professional grant writer. In addition, the program aims to ensure the organisation gains the skills, knowledge and experience that will enable them to develop future grant submissions.
